The holiday season is made for spending time with your family, so that is exactly what I have been prepping myself for this past week! After taking all of my tests, finalizing reports, and submitting my graduate school applications I was overcome with a sensation of complete relief. I decided to start my Thanksgiving break a little early this past Friday and decided to celebrate with my sister Blair. Blair used to go to TCU as well but has yet to see how much Fort Worth has grown. We started with these blueberry moscow mules, lots of fashion and blog talk, and of course blog photos!
Blair took lots of photos for me with her new camera and WOW they turned out great! I am so happy Blair talked me into starting a blog because it is such a fun thing that we have in common as we have grown older. Whenever the holiday’s roll around she comes down from Chicago, and we have a blast putting together outfits and taking photos.
Holiday season is my favorite season by far- great food, festive drinks, family, and lots of love :)! This time of year is all about celebrating, so I always love concocting new drinks that I know my friends and family will enjoy. I love my Moscow Mules, but sometimes it’s fun to shake things up…
Incorporating fruit into cocktails makes for a fresh, light, and crisp drink. I think it also gives the cocktail a celebratory look, which is on point with holiday season!
Since it’s no fun to drink alone I made this recipe for two ;)!
Ingredients (blueberry syrup)
-1 cup frozen or fresh blueberries
-2 Tbsp sugar
-1/2 cup water
Ingredients (Moscow Mule)
-juice of 1 lime
-1.5 oz. vodka
-1 bottle of Crabbie’s Ginger Beer(11.2 oz.)
-3 oz. blueberry syrup
In a saucepan heat water, sugar, frozen blueberries an dring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once it has reached a boil, reduce heat and cover. Simmer for 10 minutes. Separate blueberry syrup from blueberries in a strainer. In two glasses add juice from 1/2 lime, 1.5 oz. vodka, 3 oz. of blueberry syrup, and ice. Then top with 5.5. oz. Crabbie’s ginger beer (each glass gets half a bottle). With a cocktail spoon stir well. Top with blueberry garnish and enjoy!
Absolutely love the print of this Maeve Anthropologie blouse and all of their similar Woodland Walk Buttondown blouses, they’re the perfect addition to your holiday season wardrobe!
